William G. Barnhardt

Of Bryn Mawr Apartments in Wilkinsburg, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Beloved husband of 67 years to Mary Barnhardt. Loving father of MaryAnn Deak (Mike), Linda Yanowich (the late Alan), and William J. Barnhardt (the late Kristin). Grandfather of Jessica Obremski, Lindsey Obremski, Alex Yanowich, and Elijah Barnhardt. Great-grandfather of Mia, Isaak, and Autumn. Brother of the late Shirley Barnhardt Franzi, Virginia Anne “Ginger” Barnhardt Sacco, Wilbert Barnhardt, and Francie Aiello Brown. Bill served as a military policeman for the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a craneman at US Steel for most of his life, but enjoyed working as a guard at the Carnegie Museum of Art after his retirement. Bill was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3604 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Sunday from 1 to 5pm. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 5:00pm. Private entombment in All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to Mary Barnhardt in care of the funeral home.
