Thomas (Tom) Campbell passed away suddenly on Thursday September 22, 2022, while at his mountain retreat in Travelers Rest, SC. Tom was born in Martins Ferry, OH. He attended Martins Ferry High School, where his senior year he led the football team as Captain. Tom also lettered in wrestling, baseball & basketball. Upon graduation Tom was recruited by VMI, where he majored in Civil Engineering, Captained the football team his first Class year, maintained Dean’s List & was named to Outstanding College Athletes in America. He was also inducted into the Fraternal Order of Masons.
Following graduation, Tom was employed by Westinghouse Electric where he became the youngest general manager ever appointed & won the Westinghouse Order of Merit. An entrepreneur at heart, Tom brought that spirit with him both in his corporate life & later with the two businesses he started in Murrysville, Technical Solutions & STAT Resources, both staffing companies for technical & medical personnel respectively. He was always willing to help friends & colleagues with their businesses to ensure their success.
Tom was a generous & charming man who never failed to help others. He had a commanding presence, but was always welcoming, opening his home & heart to friends & family alike. He is survived by his wife & business partner, Jan; his beloved daughter & son in law, Shannon & Jeff Mauser; sister Sheryl Campbell & cherished grandsons, Colton & Dylan Mauser; Jan’s mother, Antoinette Galley; brothers, Carl A. Galley II and his wife Annette, and John L. Galley and his wife Lori. His nieces and nephews Laura, Joe, Emily & Sara will all miss his love & caring spirit. Tom loved his dog Rebel & two cats, Perry & Mason with abandon.
Friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3604 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Friday, September 30 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 P.M. A memorial service will be held at Wolfe Memorial on Saturday, October 1, at 11 A.M. followed by a Celebration of Life at Edgewood Country Club at noon.
