Lawrence "LJ" Micklos

Age 91 and formerly of Forest Hills, died peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2022. He was born on April 14, 1931 in Rankin to the late John and Marie Micklos. Beloved husband of 62 years to the late Joanne Geric Micklos. Father to Paul Micklos and Michele McGough, Daniel and Janet Micklos, and Mary Louise and Frank Vargo. Loving "LJ" to grandchildren Jonathan Micklos, Lauren Richter (Andrew), Amanda Schreiber (Nate), Elizabeth Vargo, and great-granddaughter Evelyn. Preceded in death by his brothers Victor and John, and sisters Marianne Papula, Mildred Sullivan, and Katherine Micklos. LJ was a Korean war veteran and a retired Union Railroad employee. He will be remembered for his big smile, quick wit, and love for his family. Friends will be received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3604 Greensburg Pike, Friday 2-8pm. There will be a final farewell at the funeral home on Saturday at 10am, where friends are invited to share stories and memories, followed by committal service at All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
