Gwen S. Moss

Of Verona, formerly of O’Hara Twp., Churchill, and Wilkinsburg, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Loving mother of Howard P. Moss II (Dr. Carolyn Fenner Moss) of Volant, Sara Moss (Frank Rogler) of Zurich, Switzerland, and Andrew Moss (Michelle Yanefski) of Lawrenceville. Grandmother of Caitlin Wynham (Daniel) of Culpeper, VA, Zachary Moss of Richmond, VA, the Gisin brothers Oliver, Dominic, and Robin of Zurich, Switzerland, Griffin van de Venne of Alexandria, VA, and Luka van de Venne of Delray Beach, FL. Great-grandmother of Henry James Wynham. Sister of Marilyn Reid of Blawnox, William Gary Siple (Cathy) of Berwyn, PA, and George Raymond Siple (Jenny) of O’Hara Twp. Gwen was predeceased by her parents George William Siple and Florence Baldwin Siple, as well as her former husband H. Donald Moss and their infant twin daughters. Gwen graduated from Wilkinsburg High School in 1952.

Along with raising her three children, Gwen enjoyed entertaining, hosting bridge club, and cooking elaborate dinners. She was a regular symphony goer, loved every family gathering, playing cards, and having a martini. She participated actively in her Beulah Church family and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Gwen was simply an integral part of the lives of many: old friends, church friends, and family.

Friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3604 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Thursday Feb. 23rd, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial Service at Beulah Presbyterian Church on Friday Feb. 24th, 10 a.m., followed by a reception in the church hall. Private burial in Beulah Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Beulah Presbyterian Church, 2500 McCrady Road, Pittsburgh PA 15235, for the restoration of their sanctuary pipe organ or to support their Meals on Wheels program.
