Esther Polichio

Of Churchill, age 87, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Beloved sister of Jane Pellegrini of Churchill and Connie Polichio of Lawrenceville. She will be missed by everyone in her large extended family. Esther was devoted to her family and helped raise her nieces and nephews, as well as their children, and she was so proud of all their accomplishments. Esther was very patriotic and proud of her Italian heritage. She was a keen gardener and avid reader. She taught herself to sew, knit, cook, and play piano and guitar. Her specialty was baking lady locks for every family cookie table. Esther worked as a public school teacher, supervisor, and principal.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Dick, and her sisters Rose Ferraro, Germaine Bellissimo, Frances Kisick, Jean Kress, and brother Dante Polichio.

According to her wishes, services are private to Esther's family. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Gifts in her memory may be given to the nonprofit Lost & Found Pharmacy, 11555 Frankstown Road, Pittsburgh PA 15235, www.lostandfoundrx.com/.
