On Saturday, June 30, 2018, age 92, of Braddock Hills. She was born on August 1, 1925, in Derry, PA to the late Lawrence and Anna DePalma. Beloved mother of Annette Kasardo (the late Tom), Cheryl Polovchik Pannell (Jack), and George Polovchik (Linda). Gram to Tyler and Alex Kasardo; and George III (Renae), Jason, and Zachary (Alexis) Polovchik. Great-grandmother of TJ, Eli, and Aaron Polovchik. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, George Polovchik, and her sister Elizabeth “Aunt BeBe” Ruffolo (the late Fred). She also loved her grand-dog Ruby Slippers very much. Theresa was a strong, hardworking woman and dedicated mother who raised her 3 children after becoming a young widow. She opened the Penn Monroe Restaurant with her father in the 1940s as a young adult. Through her inspirations her daughters later opened Penn Murry Restaurant where her Italian recipes and her presence were enjoyed by all. Gram earned her nickname by never missing Tyler and Alex's athletic events from childhood through high school. She was also a true Steeler fan and tailgater.
Friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3604 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Tuesday 1-4 and 6-8pm and Wednesday 1-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maurice Church on Thursday 10am. Burial in All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
