Kathryn "Kitty" Louise (Mountford) Sgourakis

Age 86, passed away peacefully at home in Forest Hills, on Thursday, May 10, 2018, under the kind and professional care of Heartland Hospice. Kitty was born on January 14, 1932 in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Pittsburgh to John and Kathryn Murto Mountford. She was a 1950 graduate of Sacred Heart High School and went on to become a Registered Nurse graduating from Mercy School of Nursing in 1952. She married Nicholas Sgourakis in 1954 in Pittsburgh. She worked as a nurse and retired as the nursing supervisor after 24 years of service at the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. During her time as a nurse, Kitty touched many lives and was loved by all who knew her. Kitty is survived by her children Kathy Stephan, John Sgourakis and Michael (Aimée) Sgourakis; and three grandchildren Matt Ledbetter, Izzy and Franny Sgourakis. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Susan Ann Sgourakis. Per Kitty's wishes, there will be no visitation. Private interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
