Betty Haldeman Obituary

Betty Jane Bishop Haldeman died peacefully in the early morning hours on Saturday, May 5th, 2018.  Betty was born on September 23, 1926 and lived in Pittsburgh her entire life.  She worked at Alcoa after graduating from Wilkinsburg High School.  She married her one and only love, Arthur S. Haldeman on July 12, 1948. They lived 66 years in a loving and devoted marriage. Betty’s most proud achievement was being the mother to 5 daughters, 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.  Being a wife, mother, and grandmother was her mission; she was most loved and respected by her family.  She was a member of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church her entire adult life, serving faithfully as a Deacon.  She served in the Meals-on-Wheels Program in Churchill Borough and was a long time member of the Churchill Women’s Club.  Her most loved pastime was spending time with her family.   She is survived by her daughters: Christine Schubert (Mark), Karen Lupinetti (Michael), Carol Michna (Michael), Kathryn Schaefer (James), and Kimberly Culpepper (James), her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Her memory will be forever treasured and always missed by the countless lives she touched.  Friends are invited to celebrate Betty's life at a memorial service at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, on Friday, May 18, at 4:30 P.M. Dinner will follow in the church hall. Arrangements by Wolfe Memorial, Inc. (412) 731-5001.
