My heart was so saddened to hear of Simon's passing via Charles' newsletter.

I always enjoy reading his personal musings and feel that I got to know Simon by the way Charles shared such personal moments with us all.

I'm sure that like myself, the Roadster Factory family of supporters around the world are with you in spirit and wish you much love at this difficult time.

Charles, I was stunned and saddened when hearing of the loss of your son Simon..  I am so sorry for your loss. As an Emergency Physician and a father I know no words can help.

I have not ordered from you recently. Sadly my TR6 has been sitting idle.

But I have read every email that you have sent.

You and I are the same age I believe. I believe I first started ordering from you in 1980, order # 80-4060 for a now long gone 1966 Spitfire. ( My wife asks why I still have the file. Perhaps it was for a day like today)  I was in my 3rd year of Medical School in Dallas.  That car was sold to my wife's brother, and he passed it along to someone else. Sadly we buried him this spring, dead at the age of 58 from renal cell cancer.

That early invoice did not have a customer number, but later you assigned me # 1317.

My two sons are similar in age to your family, 31 and 27. I think that I loved reading your emails because we were families growing up in parallel sharing a common love for old sporting cars.

I will pass the news along to my father in law Lawrence Parker (now here in Texas, you may remember his address in Little Rock AR)  who cherished his TR6 for many years.  You provided many parts for him. I could never convince him that the Ansa exhaust was just fine. He liked it better after the muffler shop added some glass packs.  And to my sons who will wonder why the hug when I see them this weekend is held just a little longer.

Again, I am so sorry for your loss. Your family will be in my family's prayers.

Dear Caroline and the Runyan family,
It's impossible to know what to say in this unimaginable time. Though it has been many years, I remember Simon's bright smile from our days in Indiana. A donation has been made in Simon's memory to the Woodland Hills Foundation.
With friendship,
