Age 86, on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, of Penn Hills, formerly of Swissvale and Churchill. Father of James V. Fiumara of NJ and Diane Merck of AZ; grandfather of Dr. Christopher Merck and Michael Merck; great-grandfather of Braden, Autumn and Conrad; loving companion of Cindy Curnow; preceded in death by five brothers. JV was a retired prominent insurance executive. He was past insurance executive president of American Travelers Holding Co., past executive vice president and national sales director of American Travelers Life Insurance Co. JV was also the past president of the Wilkins Twp. Lions Club and past president and lieutenant governor of the East Suburban Kiwanis Club. He also served 20-plus years as an usher at St. John Fisher Church. He was a member of Churchill and Edgewood Country Clubs and served in the Army as a paratrooper and the Occupation of Japan. He was a member of American Legion Post 980 in Plum.
